Special Ed
Special Ed:
In my district, there is a push to get kids into more general ed. Ideally, this means less restrictive environment...but that's not always the case. So right now, the push is to get the kids from 45's and 44's and 43's to 42's and 41's and 40's. So much for kids being more than a number, eh? My principal stopped me in the hallway today and said we need to talk about what that means for my class. It's not her fault. Everyone else is doing what people tell them to without asking why and she's ending up on "a list" (or our school, that is). Such beaurocratic bullshit. I shouldn't have to fight to keep my kids in the proper placement but that's what it's looking like. Ugh.
